Protest Poem 1
By Rosie Wilcox

The fact is, we're not okay. The very fact we won't acknowledge this is proof.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Everybody’s going but no one knows
Where or cares to explain why they play the
Game of see and attempt to achieve even
Though they can’t begin to believe
Their eyes. What are they trying to prove?

Do you really believe your TV screen?
Do you really believe that’s all you need?
Do you really believe you can live like that?
Is all you want what you’ll never have?

Tie-dyed signs to support the troops
It doesn't seem to matter cause in the end
Peace and war are really the same
If you get there in the end does it matter
Which way that you came?

Do you really believe your magazines?
Do you really believe what you can’t feel?
Do you really believe you can live like that?
Is all you want what you’ll never have?
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Which way will you run
When it's always all around you
And the feelin' lost and found you again
A feelin' that we have no control
Around the sun
Some say it's going to be the new hell
Some say it's still too early to tell
Some say it really ain't no myth at all
- Jack Johnson, 'All at Once'
